A 61-year-old grandmother and her 24-year-old husband have announced plans to have their first child together through surrogacy, despite their 37-year age difference. Quran McCain and his wife, Cheryl McGregor, from Rome, Georgia, first met in 2012 while working at Dairy Queen when he was just 15. Romantic feelings didn’t develop until years later. After losing contact, they reconnected in 2020 when Quran saw Cheryl working as a cashier at a convenience store. Sparks flew, and they started dating, eventually marrying in September 2021. Now, they are ready to expand their family.

Cheryl, a mother of seven and grandmother of 17, and Quran have expressed their desire to have children together. “We got married in September 2021, and it’s been a few months since we are ready to start a family,” Quran shared. They attempted to conceive naturally but turned to surrogacy and adoption due to Cheryl’s age. “We prefer surrogacy, however, we have seen a lot of people embroiled in legal complications far after the child is born,” Quran explained. They are looking for a surrogate willing to sign a contract to relinquish all rights to the child after birth.

Cheryl and Quran have specific preferences for the surrogacy process. “With adoption, we are looking for a biracial baby so the baby would know, ‘I have half black and half white parents,’ so he [or she] would feel that we are his true parents,” Quran stated. Cheryl added that her daughters would have been ideal surrogates if not for their hysterectomies.

Despite the age difference, the couple is aware that Quran may have to raise their child alone someday. Cheryl expressed her confidence in him, saying, “I have faith in him. If I am not here he can do it. He’s gonna be a great father, he’s a responsible adult.” Cheryl and Quran’s family initially hesitated about their decision, but five of her children have since come to support the idea.

Cheryl and Quran also receive a lot of criticism on social media due to their unconventional relationship. “People on social media have a lot of hate for us, they say I’m dating my grandmother,” Quran said. “At the end of the day, we still got each other and that’s all that matters. No matter what they say or do, it can’t hurt us.” The couple believes their love is genuine and strong, despite the negative comments.

The couple’s relationship has also been a hit on social media. They began posting videos on TikTok shortly after they started dating, quickly becoming viral sensations. Their intimate wedding was live-streamed on the app and watched by thousands of fans. They even set up an OnlyFans account for their more adult content.

Quran and Cheryl’s love story is unique, marked by a significant age difference and societal challenges, but their bond remains strong. “There’s a different type of chemistry with him even though he’s younger,” Cheryl said. “We have a lot of chemistry because of the things we’ve been through and it pulls us closer together.” Despite the initial disapproval from Cheryl’s family, their love has only grown stronger. “Don’t look for love because it will find you,” Cheryl concluded. “I wasn’t looking for love and it found me, and it’s amazing.”
