The United States government is sitting on a treasure trove of steal, and President Biden needs to figure out what to do with it. Under former President Donald Trump, the United States was constructing a border wall between the southernmost states and Mexico. However, President Biden canceled all contracts related to the construction of the border wall, which means that resources, like these tons of steel, have been abandoned along the unfinished wall between the two countries.

Drone footage, first obtained by Fox News, shows tons of steel left behind in the wake of Trump’s ousting from office. Now that Biden is in charge, he will need to come up with a plan for what to do with the unused material because people are outraged that it is just sitting near the Rio Grande collecting dust.

The government needs to do something with the unused steel and soon because it is becoming a hazard for animals that live in the area. Fox News reports that local ranchers are outraged at all of this waste, and they believe Biden should find some way to use up all of these resources instead of just allowing them to rust away.

Under President Trump, builders erected about 450 miles of wall. They had another 300 miles of wall planned to be built and had spent taxpayer money on the unpopular project while holding the White House. Now that Biden has stepped into power, construction on Trump’s wall has ceased.

But people are not happy with Biden’s sudden halt to progress on the wall. Although Democrats never supported the wall, citing how it would not be powerful enough to keep out undocumented immigrants who were coming through entry points and not sneaking over the border at night.

The materials caught in the drone footage were located in Pharr, Texas. According to an estimate from Daily Mail, the unused steel had the potential to become hundreds of miles of wall. That begs the question: Why were they buying so much material to build a wall when they didn’t even know if the wall was going to be built in the first place?

Social media was explosive with comments from outraged Trump supporters.

“Who cares? Mexico paid for all it per Trump, right?”

Another person shared, “I find it extremely difficult to believe that over 80M people voted for this. Well, now you see the consequences – Wait, there’ll be more.”

“Yet all those contractors are still getting paid millions. This administration is the worst.”
